Mission Statement

ACASA-The Academy of Comedy Arts and Sciences Associated International is an organization that will service the comedy community by presenting comprehensive educational programs; providing access to career and business resources; and by presenting special events and awards for achieving standards in excellence.

The Mission of ACASA

The goal of The Academy of Comedy Arts & Sciences Associated International is to be the established international institution servicing the needs of the comedy community and rewarding outstanding achievements to those who provide talent and service in the comedy industry. The mission is to preserve and celebrate the history of comedy, to education those who will impact the future of comedy, to heighten the public’s awareness of the benefits of comedy and to make every effort to expand understanding and respect for comedy as a business.

Our emphasis will be on education, resources and awards (ERA). The comedy community provides invaluable gifts to the general public, and many who participate in the craft do so at or because of great personal sacrifice. ACASA will provide resources to assist its members with personal and business needs. A primary focus of the Academy of Comedy Arts & Sciences Associated International will be to provide its members with access to medical, dental and vision benefits, and especially access to treatment programs for chemical and narcotic dependency, therapy, and alternative healers.

The Academy of Comedy Arts and Sciences will provide a dedicated and loyal staff that subscribes to the mission of the organization. ACASA staff does not compete with ACASA members for work, resources or recognition. The strategic hiring of ACASA staff encourages employees to expand their specific skills so that overall, their service is in the best interest of the organization. ACASA staff is recognized as assets to the organization who are passionate about their service to The Academy of Comedy Arts and Sciences International and the members it serves.

Our Vision

Film actors and actresses have the Oscars. Their counterparts in television have the Emmys, musicians have the Grammys, and thespians have the Tonys. At one time, comedians had the American Comedy Awards. Now, every comedian – stand-up, actor, writer, etc. will have ACASA International – a membership organization that offers access to educational programs; award recognition; health and wellness information and services. The Academy of Comedy Arts & Sciences International is committed to honoring the traditions of the craft, while celebrating the achievements. It is our overall vision to heighten public awareness of the inherent benefits of the gifts of comedy and to expand understanding and respect for comedy as a business.
